| ABOUT
WWBIC |

|
The Wisconsin Women's Business
Initiative Corporation (WWBIC) is an economic development corporation providing
quality business education, technical assistance and access to capital for
entrepreneurs. Established in 1989, WWBIC consults, educates and mentors owners
of small and micro businesses throughout Wisconsin. We concentrate our efforts
with women, people of color and those of lower incomes.
Since its inception, WWBIC has served over 20,000 individuals, directly financed
over 500 business start-ups, supported over 150 business expansions and assisted
in creating over 1,250 jobs in Wisconsin. Each year, WWBIC increases its impact
across the state through the hard work of a 20-person staff and a corps of
dedicated volunteers.
The Wisconsin Women's
Business Initiative Corporation is partially funded by a grant
from The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) in addition to
donations from corporate sponsors, foundations, and private
contributors.
WWBIC
receives money from the SBA’s Micro Loan Program and its Office of
Women's Business Ownership (OWBO). OWBO provides programs to support
women entrepreneurs from business start-up to expansion through a
variety of services and resources. To find out more about OWBO, log
into their home page at www.sba.gov/womeninbusiness.
SBA's
cooperation does not constitute or imply its endorsement of any
opinions, products and/or services. Reasonable arrangements for
persons with disabilities will be made if requested at least two weeks in advance. All SBA
programs are extended to the public on a nondiscriminatory basis.

WWBIC owns and manages Coffee With A
Conscience, which serves as a revenue-generating source for both WWBIC and its
clients. Coffee With A Conscience features catering, sandwiches and bakery made
by WWBIC's training and lending clients. As a business laboratory, it also
provides an additional training opportunity where WWBIC class participants can
practice their skills in marketing, management, business administration and
cash
flow.
