Small Business Consultant

Racine/Kenosha, WI

This full-time position is responsible for delivery and coordination of WWBIC’s business assistance programs in the greater Racine/Kenosha and SE Wisconsin markets. Core responsibilities include: assessing needs and providing direct one-on-one or small group technical assistance and counseling to WWBIC loan clients; conducting business site visits; promoting awareness of client businesses; performing comprehensive review of business plans including marketing, financial goals, financial statements, and projections; developing action plans to achieve business goals and monitoring progress; and assisting clients in creating cash flow projections and financial analysis for guidance in making decisions.

This position requires a genuine desire to work with small business owners of diverse ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, 3-5 years solid work experience, preferably in small business planning, business development, or business counseling along with  strong communication skills and professionalism is required. Having been a small business owner previously is preferred. Some travel and evening/weekend hours required

Loan Officer  (part-time)

Madison, WI

This part-time (20 hours/week) limited term position is funded to run for two years. The Loan Officer has responsibility to produce approved, closed and disbursed loans for WWBIC’s micro lending programs focusing on the South Central market. Core responsibilities include: Identify, analyze, underwrite and close loan applications, develop and foster key relationships to ensure collaborative partnerships with area financial institutions and other sources for loan referrals, maintain a presence in the community to facilitate loan production, represent WWBIC at community and professional functions, conferences and meetings and maintain on going loan client contact.

This position requires a genuine desire to work with business owners of diverse ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.   Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years solid work experience in commercial banking or underwriting, strong analytical and organization skills, the ability to multitask and meet deadlines and strong communication skills are required. Must have valid drivers license and proof of insurance as position requires local travel.   Experience in small business financing or community development lending is preferred.

Loan Processing Specialist

Milwaukee, WI

This full-time position limited term position is funded to run for two years. The Loan Processing Specialist is responsible for working with our loan clients to guide them through the loan application process and gather all required documents to complete and close the loan.   Specific responsibilities include building rapport with clients, leading the gathering of key documents, running UCC/CCAP searches, and input/upload required document in to the SPARK loan orgination system.  In addition they will troubleshoot issues form Loan clients or team members and serve as back up to our Loan Servicing Specialists.

This position requires an Associate’s degree or equivalent experience, and 2-4 year experience in a customer service-oriented or lending support role. Must have proficiency in MS Office, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritize large volumes of work. Must be a team player who understands that collaborative efforts are essential to achieving our mission. Experience with lending or loan operations and experience with database applications, lending platforms or similar technology is preferred.

Financial Coach

Milwaukee, WI

This part-time (20 hours per week), position is responsible for coordinating WWBIC’s Financial Capability programming and working individually with program clients. The Coach will assist with enrollment and case management of program participants, meeting with clients in person or as directed by program and client need. In addition, they will develop strategy to encourage successful participation with the programs, maintain accurate and timely program documentation, and foster good relationships with contract and bank partners.

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years’ experience, preferably working in social work/case management and financial capability programs. Experience working with programs serving individuals with disabilities, low-to-moderate income and other traditionally underserved populations is preferred. The capacity to function in a fast-paced, growing organization is vital. This ideal candidate is professional, flexible, positive and able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with diverse audiences, both in groups and one-on-one. Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance is required as position requires travel to meet with clients. Evening and weekend hours required.

Barista

Milwaukee, WI

Coffee With A Conscience® (CWAC) is the social business venture of the Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation (WWBIC). We operate a café and provide catering at Schlitz Park. 

We are seeking a part-time (approx. 16-20 hours/week) Barista to serve up some delicious coffee, awesome customer service, and excitement for our cause.  Main hours are Monday – Friday between 6am – 3:30pm.  

Specific responsibilities include:  Providing top-notch service and high quality beverages to café customers, ensuring a clean/organized environment, perform open & close duties, cash handling, and representing CWAC at events as needed.

Previous retail customer service and barista experience, professional & friendly communication skills, and reliability are needed.  Must be able to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast paced environment.
