WWBIC names Colleen Bies as Regional Project Director for Northeast Region

May 26, 2021

WWBIC is excited to announce the addition of Colleen Bies as the new Regional Project Director for the Northeast Wisconsin region.

Following twelve years serving in the Army National Guard and while simultaneously earning a Bachelor of Business Administration and an MBA, Colleen left her corporate finance job to pursue a path in entrepreneurship. In this new chapter, she founded Colleen Bies Photography and opened a brick-and-mortar tea shop in Downtown Appleton.

Colleen led a group of creative entrepreneurs; mentored, educated, and supported other small business owners and received recognition as one of Fox Valley’s Future 15. In light of the pandemic and realizing the need for business education amongst small business owners; primarily those in underserved communities; she sought out an opportunity to positively impact those individuals and found WWBIC to be that path to help serve small businesses.

“Colleen’s passion to serve is ubiquitous from her tenure with the Army National Guard to her own path to entrepreneurship.  Her experience in leading and mentoring entrepreneurs speaks to her unwavering commitment to ensure underserved individuals receive equitable access to support and services.  She is a welcome addition to WWBIC and through her leadership we will continue to ensure WWBIC’s far-reaching impact across Northeast Wisconsin,” said Kamaljit Jackson, Vice President for Programs and Operations.
