We will examine the myths that shape how we think about management and business decision making. Phrases like “accountability,” “efficiency,” “best practices,” “scalability,” and “data-driven decision-making” appear so often in business writing, consulting decks, and LinkedIn posts that they start to feel like natural laws. But they’re not laws. They’re habits of thought. And like all habits, they can be useful, or they can be limiting. This session will pursue the idea that management decisions work best when they are shaped by the particularities of a business, a market, or a community’s values. Let’s see where your enterprise fits in, and how and where it might accomodate or overcome these myths.
