Meet your facilitator, Kate Moody.

As a former academic and librarian, Ms. Moody approaches financial education from a welcoming, judgement-free, and research-based vantage point. She has been providing financial guidance since 2012. After talking to too many students who were stressed out about money and had little understanding of the financial world, in 2014 she began a financial literacy program at the small college she was a librarian at. This entailed teaching workshops, bringing in speakers and counselors, and building a peer-mentoring program. During this time she took classes in accounting, finance, and investment. She attended a two day workshop on money coaching provided by the University of Wisconsin Extension office. Ms. Moody then published two book chapters on her experience running a personal finance program and presented at the Higher Education Financial Wellness Association conference in 2017. She holds a Master of Library Science degree from Indiana University and was a librarian for a decade.
